Upolu Era

Malo lava everyone! I hope everyone is doing splendid! Man, the mission is flying by fast but there's nowhere I'd rather be than serving the Lord and the people here.

Anyways, here are the updates:

- After serving in the area of Aoloau for 5 months, I have been transferred to the island of Upolu in the area of Navu! This area covers Vaivase Uta, Fagalii Uta, Faatoia, and Moataʻa. I finally made it to Upolu after 4.5 months in Savaiʻi and 5 in Tutuila (American Samoa).

- Thank you for everything Sister Vavae . My companion is now Sister Evaga from Australia!

Friends

We are currently teaching our friend Sam who's family are recent converts. He kind of grew up with extended family in New Zealand and they went to a different church. So when he came back to live with his family, he's been coming to our church and church activities. We invited him to be baptized and he said yes! When we told his mom that he wanted to be baptized, she cried.  So we're looking forward to seeing Sam progress toward this sacred ordinance.

A phrase that's been on my mind this week says, "There's no comfort in growth and no growth in comfort." That couldn't be more true as I've witnessed it apply to my life in the mission, to other missionaries, and especially to people who change their lives to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

One thing I've noticed is that there's always something I can improve on, especially when it comes to following Jesus Christ more fully. But things like laziness, doubt, or fear get in the way of progressing. I invite you all to recognize what keeps you from fully following Christ and then pray to your Heavenly Father for how you can improve. I know that God will give you promptings through the Holy Ghost on what you can do this week to help you progress. (2 Nephi 32:3-5)

It's one of the best things in the world as a missionary to receive a random email about absolutely anything from absolutely anyone. So, please don't be shy and update me on what's up on your side of the world.
