Oso ia Iesu

 Aso Gafua

Last preparation day, we (Sisters in my zone) went shopping in Tafuna and found all sorts of food I never knew I lived on so much in Utah. Then we ate at a restaurant in the Tradewinds Hotel.

In the evening, Sister Moeaʻi, Sister Gorringe, Sister Wilson, and I did a jeopardy activity for the YSA in Mapusaga Fou 4th Ward. It was on the main lessons missionaries teach: the Restoration, Plan of Salvation, Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Disciple of Jesus Christ. They loved it and had food and karaoke afterward.

Aso Lua

We celebrated Sister Moeaki's birthday after district council meeting!  Sister Wilson and I baked her brownies, so we had brownies and vanilla ice cream.

Aso Lulu

We didn't have to catch any buses today because nice people gave us rides. Nonmembers and members. We had a follow-up lesson with Hamen and Iyvahronze! We helped them think of good words to say instead of swear words, lol. At our fafaga with the Tavita's, we shared a message about prayer by tying a knot in an ie (cloth) without letting go. You have to fold your arms first (prayer), grab the ends, and then pull to tie a knot. We tied it into 3 Nephi 18:18-21. Their baby daughter was feai, haha.

Aso Tofi

We had a lesson with Viliamu. He's a cute old man who's come to church a lot with his family who are members, but he has his doubts. But we had a good discussion about the Restoration and he reads what we give him. At the end of the day, we decided to go for a run in the parking lot of the Mapusaga Stake falesa and all these kids come and talk to us and start playing a game with us. It's moments like those that make me cherish my time here.

Aso Faraile

We had a hard time catching the bus to Aoloau this day, but it led us to knocking on a door in Mapusaga and finding a new friend named Sebastian! He's a young man who has another faith but had spiritual questions for us. We gave him our number and he actually called it the next day, which surprised me because that never happens, lol. On the call, we invited him to church, and he said he couldn't, but he'll try to come next time. Please pray his parents will let him come this week!  After finally catching a bus, we re-taught Hamen and Iyvahronze the plan of salvation. It was good practice for me to try and teach the whole thing in Samoan (even though they didn't understand at the end and asked that I switch to English ). Took a bus back to Tafeta and played "Jump to Jesus" with an inactive family's kids. The game has the steps of the Gospel: faatuatua (faith), salamo (repentance), papatisoga (baptism), o le meaalofa o le Agaga Paia (the gift of the Holy Ghost), tumau e oo i le iuga (endure to the end), and then Iesu Keriso at the end.

Aso Toonaʻi

Today, we were on splits with the STL's! I spent the day in Aoloau with Sister Johnson. Our neighbor gave us a ride up to Aoloau, bless his heart. We first visited with Samuelu and Vanier. Samuelu has the desire to be baptized, him and Vanier are just planning to be married at the end of the year. We read 1 Nephi 8 together and even watched the Book of Mormon video for it. They loved it and shared a lot of their insights. Then we visited the Faapito's family, and Laei was there! We've been trying to have another lesson with him for ages (1 month) and we finally got the chance. We talked about the temple and sang "Families Can Be Together Forever" for him.

We were planning to have lunch after a few more visits, but we didn't need to because members fed us lunch! Faafetai i le Tama Faalelagi sa fetaui lelei le taimi. After that, most of our visits weren't home/busy, but we got nice pics. 

Aso Sa

Will, Diploma, Hamen, Moring (Hamen's less active mum), Iyvahronze, Samuelu, Laei, and Viliamu all came to church and it made me so happy!
