Tauaveina o le Suafa o Iesu Keriso
Kia ora, talofa, and hello dear family and friends. How ya doin? Whatchya doin with ya life? Kiliki i lalo i le agavale ina ia mafai ona e faʻamatala mai ia te aʻu lou olaga. It's only a fair trade as I share with you my week... Also, I'm challenging myself to use absolutely no emojis/photos and just straight type. 75% of my communication is through my face and actions while the other 25% is... y'know... talking. Hehe. Dang it, see, I'm making a face but yall can't see. Haha... that's awkward.
Anywayyys, I was given the chance to give a talk last week Sunday in Navu 2nd Ward with my companion Sister Fuli. It was around Elder Gary E. Stevenson's talk "Love, Share, Invite":

It's a good reminder to those not serving missions that you still play a crucial part in the Lord's work of spreading His light, even in your every day life.
After church, we had a missionwide Zoom that was focusing on a specific chapter from the Preach My Gospel guide book. The missionaries are to study that chapter the week beforehand in personal+companion studies to be prepared to answer questions about the chapter to get points for their zones. It's pretty fun. But this last Sunday was on the last chapter, so... yeah. No more of those. Don't know which zone won yet.
On Wednesday, my zone went to the temple!!! Yayyyyyy! I was so happy to be reminded of the covenants I've made with God and His plan of happiness. At one point, the power went out... but that didn't take away from the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. After wards, we had lunch and our zone council meeting in the mission office while President Reid did our PPIs (president's?? or priesthood?? personal interview). It was nice. I love my fellow missionaries very much. *imagine a heart of your choice right here*
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my new calling as of the beginning of this transfer as a referral manager. This means I bug missionaries to contact their online referrals everyday and also shoot a few ads for social media. We have a referral managing squad, so I just cover Tutuila missionaries. Online referrals are special because instead of us finding them, they reach out to us!
On Thursday, we went to early morning seminary. Thursdays are when our missionaries participate in or teach seminary. It's to keep our lines in the water. *imagine the fishing emoji right here, haha* I feel bad for the kids, man. #blessedtohaveseminaryinschool
But it's certainly a good way to start the day. I know how much seminary has strengthened my knowledge and testimony of Jesus Christ, so I'm glad to be a part of these kiddies seminary experience in Samoa.
Saturday we had the chance to attend a funeral. It was the grandfather of the families we spent New Years with, the Tilo and Fitisemanu families. He was a hardworking man who stuck to his faith in the Navy despite being the only member of our church, which inspired a few of his fellow veterans to Jesus Christ. Let's all be an example of Jesus Christ!... I was gonna add the fist emoji, so imagine that.
This past Sunday, Sister Fuli and I had another chance to give talks in Sacrament meeting but for Navu 1st ward. It was around Elder Dale G. Renlund's talk "Taking on the Name of Jesus Christ":
Right before Sacrament meeting starts, our bishop pulls us aside and says Elder Peter F. Muers (Area Seventy President of the Pacific Area) and Elder Faalogo (of the Seventy) will be a part of the program too. How nice. What a special Sunday for Navu 1st ward. I swear I'm not being sarcastic. No emojis makes this depressing hahaha.
We also were able to help a friend get a ride to church. Her name is Shirley and she was so happy! Go to/keep going to church, family and friends, it'll make you happy too. This church is a church of joy! (ifykyk) Not only that, but one thing I was reminded from Elder Muers is that we have the blessing of getting a fresh start every week through partaking of the Sacrament. Snatch all the blessings and Iove Christ has and offers to you through His atoning sacrifice.
Lastly, preparation day was spent with the zoneeee. We surprised Elder Ale with decorations, cake, and a poster since he returns with honor this transfer. He's a good example of what finding joy in the work looks like. Faafetai mo le ata. "Fangyu for da show..." Then we played sports games together! I was on blue team going against black team. I love my brothers and sisters, aaand...
... I love you too!!!!! You know who else loves you?... yup.
