Mapusaga = Relief

 Malo lava soifua oʻu āiga ma uo 

A few weeks ago, the mission schedule had to adjust to the dengue fever outbreak. Dengue fever had been affecting a lot of people, including missionaries. So we had to shorten the hours of going out and about to avoid mosquitos. During the extra time staying in, the mission would have extra study time together on zoom calls. We studied the Book of Mormon, Adjusting to Missionary Life, and the language. We even picked up trash on the way to our MQs for a whole week as a mission to help with the mosquito problem.

At the same time, somewhere in Upolu was experiencing hail, AND we got a tsunami warning.  It fit quite nicely because the mission was studying the chapters following up to when Jesus visited the Nephites, which is where all the crazy natural disasters were destroying cities since Jesus was killed. Anyways, the mission schedule is back to normal now, but dengue is still prominent. Please pray for those affected by dengue in the Pacific Islands. 

Anywayyys, we had zone conference on Wednesday, and it was different from past zone conferences. Usually, we get Preach My Gospel trainings, missionary handbook trainings, and a run-down on the key indicator statistics of the whole mission. But this time, we did roleplay and activities to help us learn how to personalize lessons to the specific needs of our friends. For Singing Time, Sister Reid taught us to sign my favorite song: The Miracle by Shawna Edwards.

We also had a reverent moment of observing different photos of Jesus and writing down whatever we thought and felt from them. The main theme that I gained from each picture is that Jesus is actively engaged in our lives and loves us individually so much. O Iesu Keriso o le mapusaga mai oʻu agasala, tiga, faafitauli, ma taimi faigata. My Zone Leader, Elder Youd, gave his testimony on how Jesus taught us without even saying anything as we looked at His photos. We can do the same and be a light and example of Jesus Christ wherever we go. People learn a lot from our actions.
